Liquid collection tank Sump
Liquid collection tank refers to the auxiliary equipment used to store the heat medium for natural cooling and to precipitate and remove part of the entrainment during the heat treatment process in the metallurgical industry. Generally, it is welded into a rectangular or cylindrical groove body by using steel plates and section steel, and some adopt reinforced concrete structures. It is often divided into two or three parts, separated by steel plates in the middle for liquid storage, precipitation and standby.
The volume of the sump should be greater than the sum of all the quenching tanks and the quenching medium volume in the cooling system. The oil collection tank is generally increased by 30% to 400%, and the water collection and aqueous solution tank is increased by 20% to 30%. The height of the partition in the tank is about 3/4 of the height of the tank. The oil collecting groove is generally provided with oil holes and oil drain holes for maintenance. The oil inlet pipe should be inserted below the liquid level. The oil suction pipe should be inserted into the bottom of the quenching oil tank, and a filter screen should be added at the end. A level gauge and emergency oil drain valve are required. The oil collecting tank should also be considered to be equipped with heat preservation and heating devices.
Many old-fashioned oil cooling circulation systems in our country do not have a cooler, and make the oil collection tank very large, relying on natural cooling. This structure brings about problems such as large oil reserves, easy oil aging, difficult replacement, high fire risk, large footprint and deep pit depth.
Quenching medium circulation cooling system is used to cool the hot quenching medium discharged from the quenching tank, and then send it back to the quenching tank to continue to use. According to the working mode, the quenching medium cooling system can be divided into two types: individual cooling and centralized cooling. The centralized cooling system is widely used, and some devices can be started according to the actual use of the quenching tank. The circulating cooling system includes five parts: filter, pump, cooler, liquid collecting tank and quenching tank.
The liquid collecting tank is generally installed below the ground level of the workshop, and the height of its upper mouth should be lower than the installation height of the bottom of the quenching tank, so that all the cooling oil can be discharged into people during emergency accidents such as maintenance of the cleaning equipment or workshop fire. In the case of directly using the liquid collecting tank to cool the quenching medium without using an oil cooler, the volume of the liquid collecting tank should be further increased.
